Mahwah Doctor’s Employee Stole $20,000 From Patients, Prosecutor Charges

MAHWAH, N.J. – A Mahwah doctor’s employee from Englewood stole $20,000 from patients, said authorities who arrested him.

Sebastian Sarria, 24, “Accessed the doctor’s credit card processing system and voided patient-based credit card payments,” then “Processed them through a cellphone/computer-based credit card application he had subscribed to in his own name,” Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said.

Detectives from his office and Mahwah police arrested Sarria on Thursday, the prosecutor said.

He was charged with to his computer-related theft, theft by deception and fraudulent use of a credit card.
